This is SO Weird...

Call me certifiable, call me on the local looney bin's door but I saw what I saw and here is my story: Each night for the last 2 or 3 months that I can recall I have seen this. I live right across the street from Taco Bell on the side street. I watch cars come and go as I look out the window in my room. The TB lot has the building on left closest to the main road and then a U-shaped drive thru on the right. In the semi-circle of the U are two mature Cottonwood trees. They both have very healthy branches and limbs that shoot out from the trunk. So every day I look out and see just that. But at night there is a very definite thick bough that hangs down right in the light so I can see it very plainly. During the day I scour those trees time and time again and never see that bough. But at night there it is plain as day. So do you think this is an optical allusion of some type or, am I just certifiable?

You could always send your grandson over there in the daytime to take pictures with his phone of the tree/branches.

It would probably be my daughter since my grandson rarely goes out.

@celticeagle It doesn't really matter as long as she can take good photos up close to the tree.

@sallypup .......I thought as much. No really hiding however, just don't choose to go out.

It sure is. Weird I see it when it's dark and not when it's light out.

@celticeagle I have moments when the sun is setting and it's that just before dark but dark enough to cause illusions. I've "seen" things in the road and wind up being shadows.

Is it a shadow of some sort? It does sound strange.

Nighttime vision is always a little dicey. Could your grandson go and check it out?

I can't describe so he can see it. But I may try to do that although he doesn't go out so I would have to have my daughter do it.
