Looking Forward To the Holidays Alone with Hubby

We keep things pretty simple in the Looeyville household. We are minimalists. We don't go out much. We don't like a lot of celebration and fanfare.
Lately our schedules have been really full with doctor's appointments, taking care of the mother-in-law, and countless other things.
Today and tomorrow, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we have nothing on our schedule but each other and Oliver the Fat Cat.
What are you doing for Christmas?

I am looking forward to being around family. I get tired of being alone (doctor appointments are prevalent, sure, but don’t help loneliness). So off tomorrow morning, we drive two and a half hours to my sister’s where they’ll open the presents we got them (my present from them was Disneyland). After about an hour and a half, we’ll drive the 30 minutes to the church where my dad’s family meets in Tulsa for our Christmas potluck. I look forward to seeing my aunts, (who need their own reality show). Three hours later, we’ll drive home (I’ll make my poor dad nuts talking), and then Christmas night I’ll watch a horrible football game because Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL last week so his Chiefs (playing tomorrow night), stink.
I know you’re glad you asked!

See, we're opposites? Your issues are physical and you don't want to be alone. My issues are mental and I want to be alone. But you know what they say . . . opposites attract. I love you, @AmbiePam MERRY CHRISTMAS!

My daughter and I aren't planning on going anywhere or doing anything special for Christmas. Pretty laid out chicken to thaw and put baking pans and veggies out for me to make today. Apparently, that's what she wants for lunch and supper tonight.
I hope you and your hubby have a lovely Christmas Eve and Christmas!

@looeyville Quiet and simple is the way to go. Our Scottish daughter is in Belfast for the week with her boyfriend but not staying with us. We’ll see her for a while today then call with number 1 son and see number 2 son tomorrow for a while. Thankfully our house is too small for entertaining.

We are going over to my sister and brother-in-law's house tonight for dinner. My chiropractor nephew is in town with his girlfriend from Nashville, and we'll have other family there as well. Our actual Christmas gathering will be on the 10th of January at our house.

We are giving each other gifts of our time. I did not necessarily want to be alone, I would have liked to go to Oklahoma for my brother's church for Christmas Eve services. Our church is so small and out in the country, it does not have Christmas Eve Service. Hubby did not want to go to Guthrie this year to my brother's, so we did not. I have had five medical appointments, plus an extra lab since I got off work at noon on Friday. I wish Bob had his while I am off work but he does not. Today we went to a small zoo, and out to eat at a Chinese Buffet. Bob just barely could handle it. He has not felt well since around Thanksgiving.

I hope you, your hubby and Oliver have a wonderful day. Cousin #2 is coming over to make dinner; and then we might watch a movie.
