Are You Covetous?

To define covetous, it means longing or desiring another's property or possessions.
I always thought covetous meant an insatiable greed for things.
Anyway, I remember in school, when learning the ten commandments, one of them mentioned this undesirable trait.
Now I am not an envious person of a person of means, but what I don't admire is greed.
Just me.
I have met others who just have to have every blessed thing!
And at this time of year, I see it rife.
So are you a person that wants every blessed thing you see?

Unfortunately, yes, there are way too many people in this world whose god is money.
I’m content with what I have, because I have everything I need…and everything I want, too. As you age, you realize that material possessions aren’t as important as other things. Or, as a t-shirt I have says, “the best things in life are not things.”

@RebeccasFarm — the “secret” is actually believing that you have enough.

No, I'm not. I'm pretty happy with what I have already.
Merry Christmas to you and your son!

Everything is so sparkly and tempting walking around Walmart
I guess that is what made me think of this.
Oh yes the same to you thanks DE. Merry Christmas to you and your daughter.

You're welcome. And thank you!

@RebeccasFarm It's hard to keep stuff too . . . it becomes a pile of stuff that just sits. I'm still going through stuff I need to get rid of.

Yes indeed, even a few things sometimes we wonder why we have them.

Of course, it would be great to have what you don't, especially if it makes your life financially easier. But your lot in life is determined by the decisions you make along the way, so wanting them now, in my case, is wasted energy.
One must adjust to your situation instead of dwelling on the unattainable. Although we can daydream right.

Yes we do have to adjust and adjust we do. It is no point in worrying about what we may have that's right.

I only want simple things. I am to the stage now where less is more.
