Christmas Movie Traditions

I usually watch a list of special movies each and every year. I watch The Grinch, The Bishop's Wife, White Christmas, some Charlie Brown ones, Christmas in Connecticut, Remember the Night, The Shop Around the Corner, A Christmas Carol, and maybe a few others I have forgotten. But this year I watched many of those around Halloween so didn't see them at Christmastime. Sort of weird for me. I love them all so I wouldn't think I'd get tired of them. But, I guess I did. Do you have certain movies you watch each year? What's the one you have to see each year or it just isn't Christmas?

It would be Meet me in St. Louis with Judy Garland, although if you get right down to it, it isn’t a Christmas movie. However, the ending takes place at Christmas, and I guess people feel the same way I do because it usually only airs on cable AT Christmas.

Amber, it’s on Hulu right now, we watched it the other night. Hulu is the only streaming service I have and they offer a lot of old movies I love.

I miss TCM that I used to watch on cable. Recently I found that HBO MAX has access to some TCM movies, so I have been enjoying them.

My favorite among favorites is White Christmas. I also watch It's a Wonderful Life, Christmas Eve, Charlie Brown Christmas, and Home Alone 1&2. There are a few new ones I've added to the list. I didn't get them all watched this year, but the ones mentioned I did.

Those are some old favorites for many. I used to watch White Christmas but didn't this year.

No, I don't watch any Christmas movies... I don't even watch Christmas themed YT videos from favorite YouTubers. Christmas is just anther day to me. The only thing I do is fix a special meal for Christmas dinner.

That's pretty much what it has become for me and my family. We do the meal thing too but that's it. I didn't even watch the usual movies I used to watch every year.

We don't really watch anything special at any time but I can understand it would be a nice ritual.

@celticeagle Sorry. I put 'can't' in my response instead of 'can'.

I've seen them so many times that I didn't watch any this year. I do have Christmas Story 2 recorded. I've never seen the sequel to Christmas Story.

I think I saw part of the first one once but not of interest to me at all. I like the older vintage ones myself. Didn't know there was a second one made. I am showing that 2 can be watched on Prime Video and Netflix.

@celticeagle I have it recorded so I'm in no hurry to watch it. My guess is that it isn't as good as the original.

I often watch Chinese dramas lately during the rainy season. But in the past I often watched Transformers films from cartoons to the latest ones to enjoy Christmas.

We usually watch Home Alone, A Christmas Carol 2009 version, and The Snowman by Ray Briggs. This year my son was far to sick to even watch. So we didn't.

I'm sorry your son has been so sick. What is wrong with him? Is there hope for better health in the future?

Every year around Christmastime I make sure to watch A Christmas Story, and Home Alone. I'll watch many others, but those two I listed are definite ones we watch every year.

@celticeagle We also enjoy the old stop-motion and clay animation Christmas specials, like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

I don't watch them every year. But I love A Charlie Brown Christmas, the Mr.Magoo Scrooge, and Miracle on Whatever Street.

I like the first one you mentioned. So cute. And Magoo as well. He always made me chuckle.
