Goog eveninng, dear friends.
For the first time in many years I have not come here every day. But I have been doing lots of things that are easy only when we are young.
First I had Alejandra´s belated birthday at home. I had appetizers, a wonderful seafood rissotto and Dixie brought a delicious orange cake.
The luncheon was wonderful, full of remembrances of other times.
But when then went away a little past 5 PM, I went to bed for a nap and woke up when the sun had gone. This will be my last rissotto. You have to stay in front of the wok all the time.
And even though Dixie and Humberto took turns when they arrived, it is too much work.
Sweet Martín invited me for Christmas to their house. And although my friends are his parents, I´m sure the invitation was his idea. And he bought a beautiful hat for me that covers all my mousy hair.
I made a special grocery list with delicious cheeses to take.
Now I will start preparing a small suitcase to go to Dixie´s for New Year.
All has been awesome but tiring. I´m listening to audiobooks with my eyes closed part of the day. I´m not reading news. They are too depressing.
What are you doing now?

You had some people here very worried, my friend.
I am glad you have been doing such enjoyable things (except for the risotto).
My Christmas (with 73 of my relatives) was a wonderful time. We all met and ate from a table full of dishes each of us brought, and we feasted. We sang carols and visited, and left very happy.

I'm very glad to see you!
I was getting worried about you!
Merry belated Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, Humberto and Dixie!
I'm glad the birthday party went well but understand about some things being a last time. Some things are just more work than they're worth.
I'm glad you had a nice Christmas with Martin and his parents.
I'm sure the hat looks lovely on you.
I stopped checking the news months ago...

I think that I will spend less of other things and save to invite friends to restaurants. I have been thinking about a party with a fondue but I decided I will ask Lili to do it at her house. I can take the most expensive thnigs and let the younger people do the work.

@marguicha Letting the younger people do the work sounds like a good idea.

Luna is happier as Martín had been around more and he plays with her.

It looks like your day have been filled with warmth, memories, and meaningful moments. Alejandra’s belated birthday luncheon sounds lovely, especially with such care put into the food and company. A seafood risotto made with love always carries stories from the past along with its flavour. Knowing when something becomes “the last time” is a quiet act of wisdom and self-kindness. The nap afterward feels well earned, a gentle way of listening to your body. Martín’s invitation for Christmas and the thoughtful gift of a hat is deeply touching gestures. Bought a smile reading about it. Bringing special cheeses feels like a perfect way to share joy and gratitude. Preparing for New Year’s at Dixie’s adds a sense of anticipation and continuity. For now, rest, audiobooks, and stepping away from heavy news sound like exactly what the soul needs. I am bit of relaxing after returning to mylot after 9 months and slowly getting the groove. Enjoy the day!
