Well The Mister asked for chilli for our tea …..im happy to oblige, although I’m not that on kidney beans it’s not something we have very often.
Unusually for me I do use a packet mix for the sauce . Added to mince beef and tinned tomatoes with a tin of kidney beans ….cooks whilst the rice is cooking. We had home made garlic bread too.
I need to have sour cream too, as it takes off some of the heat.
Pleased to say it went down a treat.
I’m happy to be cooking again ….
Do you cook from scratch or use ready made ?

I love sour cream on chili, and sometimes I put a little cheddar cheese on it. I had some plant based chili today, and it was so gross. I kept thinking it couldn’t be as bad as I thought, so a little later I’d take another bite. Yep, it was just as bad as I thought it was!

I also like sour cream on chili and can either enjoy it with or without the beans.Glad you enjoyed yours.
I like to cook from scratch if I can but sometimes it's easier to use ready made.

That sounds good, I enjoy cooking everything from scratch when I can

Chili tastes so good on cold days. I had a cup of chili today, I usually keep some in my freezer in the winter, so it was heated up easily. Takes the chill off!
Yes, I am a scratch cook. It's way cheaper and of course I think it's much tastier as well. I learned to cook from my grandmothers and my aunt, and that's how they cooked, so that's just what I do. I am glad you enjoyed your chili!

Sounds absolutely delicious. It is nice that you were happy to oblige his chilli request. Using a packet mix makes perfect sense on days when you want comfort food without too much effort. The combination of mince beef, tomatoes, and kidney beans is always a winner, especially when it all cooks together so easily. Homemade garlic bread must have taken it to another level. Sour cream is a must for me too, especially when the chilli has a real kick to it. It is so lovely to hear that it went down a treat. Feeling happy about cooking again is such a good sign. I do a bit of both, depending on time and mood. In case I am and not pressed for time, I cook from scratch, but on busy days I’m more than happy to use ready-made mixes. Enjoy the day!

I love chili with a lot of beans; but I can't have beans anymore. I can no longer cook; but when I did, I cooked from scratch.
