Few Venezuelans are celebrating. Each country has few such people who will do that to their country. Seems like one set of media is showing that for optic management to show it as right act of a person drunk on power. Many Venezuelans are against it, they strongly feel that it's invasion of sovereignty of a country. The US is eyeing the oil treasure, it gives damn about a common Venezuelan.

I am happy to know that citizens are concerned about this. I hope that it will end well.

@arunima25 I fully agree with you, the Venezuelans here in Italy and in Switzerland are not at all celebrating, they are condemning what happened.

It's terrible misuse of Power, doing something wrong and then trying to prove that it's right by fabrication and optic management.

I can only say that it was done with precision and swiftly without really the noise that it looked more like kidnapping a dictator out of the country than an all out war. I think now the government has just been quiet on the Venezuelan side. But on the other hand it was more like salvaging a dying state ruled by a mob or dictator that doesn’t really care about the people of their country. They are a country that is helpless in ending a ruthless dictator without any assistance from outside force. On the other hand as well it has made an internal conflict with US that it was done without the approval of the legislative branch which is questionable under their laws.

Our Congress has no guts.
Plus, we’ve been through this before, with the Bay of Pigs fiasco. That was unsuccessful, and JFK was assassinated a couple of years later, so it’s largely forgotten.
The thing that bothers me is that this tells the world and any rogue world leader that he/she can waltz into any country and kidnap their leader. It’s especially bothersome because the new mayor of New York City has vowed to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu if he ever comes to the city again (and, since that’s where the United Nations building is, he might have to).

We can't do anything to stop him, either. Our elected officials are scared of MAGA and nobody wants to be put in their sights!

@lifecoachjerusalem "Praying" is not a valid option. It doesn't help and NEVER solves anything!
Voting MIGHT help.

@DaddyEvil I am writing to my Senators and Congressmen about the situation and in that way I hope that I will have an influence upon what happens.

HAHAHAHA Yeah Mr Wannabe Nobel Peace Prize Winner was all about no new wars. . . until he saw the opportunity to remove Maduro and seize control of Venezuela's oil.
As for Congress. . . it is controlled by Republicans who are afraid of being primaried if they go against Trump. I'm actually surprised that more of the MAGA cult haven't spoken out against this crap. Isn't their thing supposed to be "America First"?

Although I was never for Maduro, I am extremelly disgusted at what Trump did to Venezuela. Trump is aping Hitler but I dread that he will surpass him soon as the technology is bigger now.

Trump is a power unto himself. He does what he likes regardless of rules or constitutions.
