Acworth Georgia Police Officer Anthony Salone answered an emergency call on New Years Day when a 75 year old woman who was at the North Star Square Assisted Living Facility was choking when she ate a meal.
Officer Salone used an anti-choking device called a LifeVac pump to clear her throat so she could breathe.
The actions of Officer Salone was important since the woman could have died or suffered brain damage from lack of air in her lungs.
Officer Salone insists he is not a hero. Just doing his job to serve and protect his community.

How scary that must have been. Choking is no fun. That pump is a great thing.

That's nice to know, it is really fatal when there's respiratory arrest.

I didn't know about that device. I only knew the Heimlich Maneuver

Perhaps the staff will cut her food up more minutely for her next time, or watch her as she eats, that she does not try to eat too much too quickly. It was good that she was saved from choking, not a nice way to die at all..

That is true that perhaps the woman ate the food too quickly.
