Had a weird experience yesterday

I was at the bank yesterday, and as I was getting ready to leave, I saw a woman pull up kind of recklessly in a big SUV next to my car. I then saw that she was so close to my car, there was no way I was gonna get out of there without scraping both our cars. I told her, she was gabbing with somebody on the outside, and was very apologetic. She said she would move it..and I was watching her. I couldn't tell for sure whether the cars were touching or not..When she got out she said "I hit your car." She was all worried about it, and wanted to give me her insurance card. I went to the back of the car and was simply able to wipe the scuff marks off, and said don't worry about it. That is the last thing I want to get involved in..some kind of insurance debacle. They wouldn't have covered it anyway, like I said you could wipe the marks off. She had a bit more of a problem on her vehicle.Anyway, she eventually got the car out of there, and re parked so I had enough space to pull out. The whole thing took 10-15 minutes though, and I was late for my meeting..She should have known better... Glad it wasn't worse.

I am glad she was nice about it and there is no damage to your car. I hate it when people don’t park correctly.

And it is always in these big vehicles, where there is no chance of escape. There wasn't a lot of parking at the bank, but one time at Aldi, which was part of a strip mall, there was a huge parking lot..and these two knuckleheads in big trucks parked right next to me, and I couldn't get out. I had to kill about 20 minutes until one of them left.

@snowy22315 I hate it when that happens. I mean, don't they even notice what they have done? Crazy.

@MarieCoyle It wouldn't have been so bad, but there were plenty of other places to park.

I wonder why some people buy those enormous SUV and they are not even capable to park them. I am glad your car did not suffer damages. You were right not to want the insurance involved.

@snowy22315 - I am glad that at least she was polite enough to move her car and not get into arguments.

You're lucky there wasn't any damage and that she was nice about it. That really could have turned into a big fiasco.

Yeah, thank God it wasn't worse. I wasn't about to try moving my car...and scraping hers though.

@Marilynda1225 They aren't thinking about what they are doing, that's for sure.

Why couldn't she gauge the space whether it would fit their cars? If you were not there that means she would have just left you to figure things out. Very selfish

I never felt comfortable driving a huge vehicle. And when I’ve had to, I’m extra careful.

Wow! You responded to the situation very well. I hope everyone will have the same attitude as yours. If only people had the same kind of mindset, I think many would be saved by extreme anger over something that can be settled harmoniously.

In Spain people leave their handbrakes off so other people can bump into gaps in their cars.
