Elvis was born on January 8, 1935, and here I have included, in honor of his heavenly birthday, one of my favorite songs from 1968, “Memories.” The song was written by Billy Strange and Mac Davis for him to sing on “Elvis,” his comeback TV special that aired on NBC on December 3, 1968.

RIP Elvis. There were only a couple of his songs that I liked. My hubby was more from his era; but he wasn't a fan either.

That comeback special reunited Elvis with America. 
Elvis exhibited an incredible vocal range allowing him to cover gospel, rock, country and pop.

Elvis is one of my fave solo singers. I love to sing some of his pop sings like "Kiss me quick", "I can't help falling in love", "Pearly shells", "Are you lonesome tonight", among others.
