I used AI for work

I’m very leery of AI. I mean I’ve seen Terminator 1 and 2. A lot of people here at work use it and swear by it. I thought I had vocab quizzes made but apparently not. Yes I could have sat down with a book and typed it out but I decided to try using Google’s AI thing. I typed in “create a fill in the blank vocabulary quiz for miller Levine macaw chapter 12 macaw”. Bam it was done in 3 seconds. It was great!

You could get used to that and that scares me. Making no effort scares me.

Well it worked out well for today. I wouldn't use it to generate class notes or a test.

Now the problem: can the kids AI the answers in three seconds???

They automatically get a zero if they use AI without permission

I'm glad it helped you out in this situation but AI can "hallucinate" (The AI specialist's words.) for "lie" and, unless you check everything yourself, you'd never know it made mistakes.

This was a biology vocabulary quiz. I know biology so I could see that everything was good. If I tried to use it for a geometry assignment or something I would have no clue if it was right or wrong.

It's good for some things and it's certainly fast. The snag is that you often don't know if it's actually correct unless you go back and check over everything yourself! For example you can ask it to write a summary of a document, or to re-write it in a different style and it does well, and if you have read the document yourself (or even written it) then you will know if it has picked out the salient points. You can ask it to translate, then you probably just have to trust that it is correct. You can ask it to 'watch' a video for you, and produce a summary - saves a lot of time, but how do you know if it's picked up the key points unless you then watch the video yourself afterwards?
