I Went for Testing

Hey all, I went in to do my proficiency tests yesterday. Scored a 92 on Excel, an 88 on Word, an 82 on proofreading, and a 98 on data entry. I'm a little embarrassed about the proofreading score, but when I was there, I overheard a lady tell one person who was coming in that he had scored a 70 on his math test and so he passed and didn't have to re-test. So if 70 is okay, maybe I don't have to worry. I guess it depends on whether there are others who scored much better. Out of all the jobs I have applied for, this is the only one I have heard back from, but this is the one I actually prefer, because it is close to where I live. I think the people are really nice, too. Hoping to hear back soon about going in for an interview. It sounds like they still have candidates who haven't scheduled their testing, yet, so maybe those people have dropped out.

I type with three fingers, typically - I hate when I have to use the shift key, lol

@Ineeddentures that's the key that you press to make capital letters and other special characters. They are on the edges of the keyboard, so it slows me down a bit.

In my opinion all your scores are good enough to get the job.

The proofreading section had a LOT of errors to fix. It was pretty challenging!

Oh, I hope you get it. I know you’d do great. They might chalk up the proofreading number up to nerves.

Thanks! At least the spelling and grammar corrections I made were fine. It was the errors of style --like whether to spell out a number or include the period inside the quotation marks--that I messed up.

I don't well on math. I don't know much of Excel. I know what it is, but never really used it. 82 is not bad.

I'm not a big fan of math, either. I do like quadratic equations and geometric proofs, though, because they're like logic puzzles.
