Found a quarter

I was going to the bank earlier this week and on my way there I found a quarter lying on the ground.
Decided to pick it up even though there were some people around.
If I wouldn’t have done so someone else would have taken it, so why not me?
I’m now 25¢ richer.
Lately, seems I’ve been finding change on the ground that’s more than a penny—quarters, dimes, nickels.
I recently found a nickel lying on a lamppost.
I wasn’t even sure that it was a nickel until I got closer to the lamppost.
Picked it up and put it in my wallet.
I wonder this, when someone accidentally drops coins on the ground, don’t they hear the sound?

I doubt that when someone drops a coin on the ground, they would hear it due to the noise outside.

If you drop paper money, of course you’ll never hear that, but I’d think that coins would make noise so you’d be able to hear if they fell out of your pocket.

I used to get made fun as a kid, because when walking to school the richer kids in my school would see me as they drove by and see me looking at the ground. They thought I was sad, nope just doing what my grandfather told me, always look at the ground because there is coins and money and other interesting things you can find.
Don't worry, I got back at them so you saw me walking but did not give me a lift to school, they never made fun of me again.

My mom got on my case once about picking up coins from the ground. But I told her if I’m not gonna pick it up someone else will so why shouldn’t I do it? Money is money, doesn’t matter how much you are. If you find some on the ground while leave it for someone else?

@lovebuglena Plus its kind of fun, but people with money always say stuff like that, we to dignified to pick up chicken scratch. You wash your hands and money is just dirty whether its from the ground or a rich person slipping you a fitty/

@crossbones27 I will admit I can hesitate to pick up change from the ground if there’s a lot of people around, but otherwise I always pick it up unless maybe it’s a penny and I’m too tired.

The saying goes: “See a penny, pick it up, then all day, you’ll have good luck”
Last time I tried to pick up a coin, it was glued to the ground, so I just ignore them now.

One time I knelt down to pick up 10¢ but it turned out that it was embedded into the ground.

I should test it out. Drop a coin on the ground by my house and see if I hear it.

The place to check is the payment window at a fast food restaurant.

Everyday I am doing my early and late afternoon walking exercise. And I have found several coins aling the way. I pick them up. If there's an owner well I will return it.

You get your exercise and your piggy bank becomes a bit richer. Win-win!

If coins fall into drifted dirt or grass or leaves they sure do not make much sound. I guess it depends on what it falls on.

Sometimes I ignore pennies but I shouldn’t do that. They add up.
