How do you dry your clothes in the Winter months ? I ask this question because we are sitting here with two clothes horses full of drying laundry. We have the fire on and move the clothes around accordingly. They will be dry by the morning. The weather is not great to dry your washing outside at the moment. I don’t mind it being inside actually. Got me thinking though ….how do you dry your clothes in the Winter months…. Outside Inside with fire / heating on Tumble drier

No tumble drier. We have a really smart Bosch washing machine I don't know much about it other than it does a load of washing and it gets spun at a really rapid rate , and then when it's stopped, you turn the dial for another spin - it does this for 2 minutes, open the door, clothing , well everything almost dry. Then we put it up on a clothes horse thing in the lobby beside the heater and it's dry in a couple of hours. Even towels. When it's spring and summer and autumn it goes out in the garden on the washing line and the air is filled with the smell of the fabric softener stuff we put in the machine. We have two washing lines, a out 10 yards each.

I try to do washing when we are not going to be home so that we don’t have to sit and look at it ….we have the clothes horse in the living room as that where we have the fire. We are, at the moment, out all day and we have eaten out a lot since The Mister is off work. When we get home we watch tv for a few hours….thats all the time we see the washing …the other end of the living room … We hen The Mister is at work I do the washing late Tuesday night …i go to Moms on Wednesday and sleep over, when I get back on Thursday the washing it dry. Result.

@Traceyjayne I can't let it pile up. Everything goes in machine on same program So as it's used it gets thrown in When load is full switch on that's it. I am OCD , I really am Everything in its place, all the time When Yvonne was starting her recovery it was easier as she would be in bed not interfering

@Ineeddentures The Mister is away all week so I only get his washing on a Friday ….every other weekend we have the grandkids and I don’t want it about when they are here. It’s easy for me to do it when he is away and I’m at moms….

I use a dryer. Even in the summer I couldn’t let my laundry dry outside because of allergies. Plus, in the summer it is so muggy! So, I do my laundry at my dad’s, and use his dryer. It sure gets the house warm, and fast!

I don’t have a dryer, which is quite unusual in America. I air dry my clothes in the back room of my house, which has a ceiling fan. That’s any time of the year. I have an area for feeding squirrels and birds outside, and the birds might “thank me” for feeding them by messing up the clean clothes hanging out.

We have a drier but I rarely need to use it. I always have a clothes horse if things come in just a little bit damp. My outside line seems to be in a really good spot as things dry very quickly.

My relatives and myself use a dryer to dry the clothes in the winter time since we do not have a clothes line outside. If the dryer is not working, then the clothes are placed inside the home on the doors.

I used to do it that way but I don't have a fireplace or wood burning stove. So I am stuck with the dryer.

A clothes line in the laundry room. A few things on hangers in the washrooms as the heat vents keep the washrooms super warm

inside alwas cause, i don't have a balcony. i have a washing machine and dryer in one but, when it's more clothes, dryer doesn't seem to work properly so clothes aren't warm. i like when it's warmer, i open my windows and everything is drying faster.

When I lived in Latvia and had a large garden, we always hung out clothes out to dry even in the wintertime.

We don't have a tumble drier. We hang them around the place. I'm always worried that it will make the place damp but so far that doesn't seem to have been an issue.
