Beans with everything!

Do you like beans? One crop I seem to have consistent success with is beans, mainly climbing beans. Some years it feels like the only thing I can manage to grow!
I grow runner beans (red- and white-flowered varieties), climbing French beans, as well as yellow and purple climbing beans.
In a strange contrast, bush beans don’t seem to do at all well, not even very similar types of French beans.
Anyway the result is that the freezer is half full of beans (the other half being mainly fruit!). It’s in need of defrosting and we need to do that before the first fruit arrives from the garden in May, so for now it’s basically beans with everything!

I do if they're young beans still in the pods. Once the pods are old enough to strip the beans out, I won't eat them.
We ate green beans in the pod yesterday with potatoes in a garlic sauce and served with a fried steak.

I do like beans, one vegetable I enjoy. I grow my own green beans in my garden. I never knew they had purple- or yellow-colored kinds.
I enjoy other kinds of beans too like kidney for chili, navy for soup, and chickpeas for salads. Guess I just for of beans, lol.

I've had success with many varieties of climbing beans. I don't seem to do well with bush beans though. I tried growing some 'yin-yang beans' and I didn't even harvest as many beans as I sowed!

I like boiled beans, not so much those "baked beans" some people think is a breakfast food. My yellow wax beans didn't do so well last year, but I got enough of the climbers to put some away in my freezer.

I LOVE beans. It's one of the foods I'm no longer allowed to have.
