It's Groundhog Day

Happy Monday and Happy February! I'm sure you've already heard that the groundhog saw his shadow which means we'll have 6 more weeks of winter weather. Can't say I'm surprised with the way this winter is going. It certainly would have been nice to hear an early spring but that's not a guarantee either when we rely on a groundhog The sun is shining and it's going to go all the way up to the freezing mark today The weekend flew by as they always do. Since it was too cold to go anywhere we did some organizing around the house. Just some rearranging and moving some stuff to the garage to get it out of the way. At some point this week I want to bring in some of my storage crates with my yarn, sort through it and see what I won't use and list it for sale. Tomorrow the dog groomer is supposed to come so I don't want to drag out all that stuff from the garage until after she leaves. Since my house is open concept there really isn't anywhere that the mess won't be seen once I start going through those storage crates. Plus she sets up her grooming station between my kitchen and dining room so she needs plenty of room for her stuff. I set myself a few doable goals for February one of which is to read more books. I haven't even read one book for January so I need to get back into the groove. I'm feeling good today and have more energy than I have had over this past week. Fingers crossed it's a productive day. What's going on in your little corner of the myLot world?

I haven't read a book this year yet. I think I need to set myself some goals.

Groundhog saw his shadow? You talkin' about that punk Phil? Willie and Fred up here didn't see theirs, and poor Sam couldn't even go out because of a blizzard. Not sure what Lucy the Lobster had to say...

It's a bit warmer. So George spent some time outside. He also told me some water box thing was leaking, and had been all day. He finally had me calling public works totell them to fix it. So, I did. And, sure as ... well let's just say I was taken seriously and they came out to fix it.

So glad you are feeling well and I hope you get to read more books! =) Today I spent time with the Lord, got schooling done with the kids, did some uploading and editing of photos, & got some cleaning done. Also, I found some time to just relax which was nice.

I’m so glad to hear you are feeling more energetic. What are you working on right now with your crochet. Is it an order?

Hopefully, it's not really cold. I'm done with the freezing cold. Definitely looking forward to warmer weather. I'm at work at the moment. Once home, I'll spend some time with the kids. Those are my plans for today.

It's not a guarantee when the Old Farmer's Almanac predicts a "mild" and wet winter, either. Feb 1-3 Snowstorm Feb 4-13 Sunny, quite mild Feb 14-23 Rainy, then sunny; mild Feb 24-28 Rain and snow showers, chilly February temperature 36° (4° above avg.) precipitation 2" (0.5" above avg. east, 0.5" below west) As a matter of fact, I hadn't heard whether the rodent had seen his shadow this morning or not. We started off at 18F this morning (according to the weather on my phone) and will reach 51F this afternoon. That will be nice... We shall have to wait and see what the rest of February brings. We need to clean up the living room. Pretty dragged in a huge tote of blankets and quilts from the garage this last fall to switch the stuff in the tote into smaller totes. When she opened the plastic tote, everything inside was covered in mud from the garage getting about 2 or 3 inches deep with water last fall. We've gotten everything washed and dried and I've folded some of it back up but it's piled on the couch right now. (I'm glad we haven't had any company. I'd be so embarrassed about how the room looks.) We don't have any smaller totes to pack it back into yet. Pretty keeps saying we'll buy some "next time we go to Walmart" but we never do. (She says she's too tired to help me pack it all back up and put it away, anyway.) I'd like to get that mess cleaned up so I can use the weight bench and weights buried in the living room...

We're all ready for some cooked groundhog right now lol but I think we all saw it coming. Just over the cold. Just working over here and some stuff for the shop later. I'm trying to keep the momentum that I have to get everything cleaned up and done. Trying to be positive and have the energy to get everything done is a lot. I should make a list lol.
