I remember hearing this song a couple times then suddenly none of our stations were playing it. To me it was one of the best songs back then.
Thank heavens mom let me watch the Smothers Brothers back in 1967 when they featured Jefferson Airplane. I found out in 1969 that this song had been banned almost everywhere. It's a shame cuz I always thought it was their best tune.

I did a “banned songs” list, and this was one of the two songs on the list inspired to some degree bt Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Maybe that book was what they were trying to ban!
