Have you ever bought bottled water?

Do you remember pet rocks? They were "a thing" a few decades ago. I never quite understood the concept. I guess they're inexpensive to feed, but they don't purr or wag their tails when they see you. And riding one would be boring.
Another fad that befuddled me was bottled water. Why buy something that you can get from the tap? I know that some water tastes a bit better than others. But for the most part, water tastes like water.
OK, I admit it. I make my own bottled water. I drink Gatorade sometimes, and when I am done with a bottle, I fill it with tap water and put it in the fridge. Sometimes I even put it a few drops of fresh lemon or lime. Yum.

I could never understand these either - pet rocks and bottled water. And when we were first married I had to buy dripping/lard! I could hardly believe I had to pay for it although I don't know what else I expected. On the farm it was all free.

My tap water tastes like crap. I figure whatever makes my skin break out in a rash when I bathe in it is the same thing that makes it taste awful. Because although we share the same water source, my tap water and my dad’s tap water tastes differently, and also doesn’t have the same effect on my skin.

Try to visit my country and you'd rather drink from bottled water than tap if you don't want to get sick.
We only drink from bottled water since the mid 90s or earlier than that.

@TheHorse Poorly maintained infrastructure, high contamination risks from sewage and agricultural wastes. The water frequently contains harmful bacteria, pathogens and heavy metals. You dal't want to risk your health.

No. It's a waste of money since most of it comes from the tap anyway. I drink filtered water from the fridge.

Neither do we,
I'm not wasting money sitting down in a restaurant and eating mediocre food when I can eat good food at home
And eating out is a rip off
A total rip off

Yes I do. I can't stand the taste of tap water, and often it's safer especially if you have hard water. I use tap for bathing, washing and cooking. I just can't d drink it.

When we go on trips, I carry a bottle (usually one I've bought with Gatorade in it) and refilled from our tap. If I run out before we're ready to go home, I will buy one if I can't find a drinking fountain to refill my bottle from. Pretty often buys bottles of water when we go shopping. (I don't like buying bottled water but she doesn't care.)

I sometimes drink bottled water. I never drink tap water unless I put it through the Brita water filter first. I think putting water through the filter saves more money than if you were to buy bottled water. They say New York City tap water is good to drink, but I don’t chance it.

@TheHorse Well, I can have tap water in a restaurant sometimes but who knows how clean it really is.

It's the only water we drink. 55% of the water in the US has forever chemicals according to the FDA. I don't like water, so it's not as much as an issue over other things.
