Dinner on a smaller plate

February 8, 2026 1:47pm CST
Dinner on a smaller plate Recently we have been using smaller dinner plates Don't ask me why Anyway Yvonne cooked tonight, Did it all herself Even peeled the potatoes. Done it all , and very well Very tasty Roast Chicken, Pork Sausages, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy to die for. These smaller plates are ok though, you can pile it high, have a heart attack and die, or, if like me you don't die you can go and pile it high again, which I did. Yum Do you like our smaller plates

Small plates aren't so bad, but over eating is when you get up in age & not watch what you eat cause it will catch up with you at some point in life.

@Ineeddentures "I will cross that bridge when I come to it" That's what I'm saying, "surprised it hasn't already" you sure don't want to end up like I did I'm sure.

I was gonna ask if you’re trying to do portion control by using smaller plates but seems like you aren’t. Your plate looks yummy. I’ll have roasted potatoes with fried shiitake mushrooms and onions for dinner. And my mom made eggplant so that will be my appetizer.

I eat a little, so always use small plates. My family members use a little bigger ones, but you can't call them too big.

I know some restaurants use smaller plates to make smaller portions look larger and also to reduce food wastage. I use smaller plates wherever I can.

I recently discovered that the plates I've been using are actually side plates. Dread to think how big the proper plates are!

I then would welcome your proper plates with a big pan of home made chips

They are nice plates. 12 inches across And if you stack food on them vertically you can indeed get enough food on them
