It's Monday and Nothings New

Happy Monday Everyone! when I got up this morning it was a sunny 2 degrees (according to Alexa). It's now a balmy 18 and I think we might even go as high as almost 30. It's a routine Monday for me. I'm enjoying my second cup of coffee while chatting and then I have the usual stuff to do around the house. I keep talking about getting someone in to clean but being the procrastinator that I am....well, I'm still doing it myself (of course my daughter helps). I talked to my son yesterday and he's been spending his working days outside unfreezing pipes. He's bundled up with 3 layers of clothes under his thermal outerwear but still cold. I feel so bad that with this frigid cold that he's been working outside but he's making good money. I guess if you have frozen pipes you'd pay almost anything to have someone come and thaw them out. We had so much gusting wind over the weekend that it blew so much of the snow over the driveways and sidewalks that our HOA called the snow removal company to come by and do a clean-up. I'm sure that will cut into our budget but it certainly was better than having to clean it up ourselves. I have a nice pork tenderloin that I'm going to make for dinner and haven't decided if I want to mash some potatoes or just bake them. Baking is easier and I can throw them in the oven with the pork but mashed potatoes just sound so much better. Guess I'll see how much ambition I have when it comes time to cook. Hope everyone is having a good day

My worst fear is having freezing pipes.

It sounds quite tasty! I keep thinking it will warm up faster in your area, but it never quite gets there. I mean, how long can that last…it’s incredible.

I am hoping and praying that we are done with the teens and 20's here. We have had a nice few last days with temps in the 60's and 70's during the day. Did you make mashed potatoes??

It must be really awful to have to work outside in such cold conditions. I guess you have to keep gloves on and they'd restrict your movement a lot.

Baked potatoes with sour cream sounds good to me! So does the pork tenderloin. It's going to be ***46*** today and the temperatures are moderating for the next 7 days. WHAT?!!! How did that happen???

How did you decide to have your potatoes. I'm in Idaho and I do love some potatoes. Any way they are fixed. Maintenance has been cleaning up the leaves here. Noisy but nice to have it cleaned up.

You'll get some warmer weather in a few days. You usually get the weather we have a couple of days later although you haven't been getting it lately. (You got the snowstorms after they passed through here but we've been getting 60s and 70F temps for several days now.) Today is supposed to reach 72F this afternoon. I haven't been outside much to enjoy the nicer weather. (We had a really cold wind blowing two of the nicer days that cut to the quick right through my coat when Pretty and I went to the ER and again to the doctor's office. I didn't enjoy that even though it was bright, sunny days both times. Pretty moved my rocking chair back into my bedroom for me yesterday and then I tripped over it. (When she checked my right foot, I'd ripped the nail completely off the second toe and had a bruise halfway down my big toe under the nail. Those weren't fun and Pretty wants me to see the doctor about them. I don't want to go back to the doctor for years if I can manage it at all. ) I hope you have a wonderful day.

You could make Chips. A bit of work but well worth it and peel a lot of potatoes every week. Just say that you were to get someone in to clean, how much would you have to pay them?
