Hey everyone, I hope you're doing amazing!
(Warning don't read this post if you have a weak stomach)
My sweet 9 year old son Josiah has always had really bad stomach issues since he was a baby. He would get backed up so bad he would cry and cry as a baby until I used a suppository. Since he was a baby the doctors ALWAYS said it's normal constipation.
I kept telling them I have 5 children, this is NOT normal. What does a Momma know, right?
Anyway, I recently switched to another doctor for him because his last 2 only wanted to put him on Miralax and do nothing to find the root of the issues. I was tired of putting a bandaid on this problem...
His new doctor is AMAZING!
The minute I told him about what's been going on Josiah's whole life he said let's send him for more testing. So grateful!
Josiah went for an x-ray which showed severe issues in his tummy of being backed up for too long, his bone x-ray showed he hasn't grown since he was 6 because of these issues-they are thinking the nutrients aren't being absorbed properly in his body to help him grow.
Next stop...an endocronologist and a GI specialist. Praying soon we will have some answers after 9 long years of waiting!
Don't give up, keep pressing on & Momma's always trust your instincts. Keep searching for a doctor who will LISTEN to you, they are out there-although hard to find I admit.

Your Josiah is such a cutie.
I’ve had my rounds with doctors and their constant slapping on of bandaids. It’s often such a battle to get them to even listen! I truly hope the problems can be treated effectively and well.

@MarieCoyle Thank you so much! He's as sweet as he is cute too.
Thank you, yes it's been super frustrating before this doctor. I know the Lord led us to him! And I am so grateful we might finally get some answers for my baby.

What a bunch of Quacks. Yes, I so agree! Trust your instincts. Poor little guy. Some doctors nowadays are just what I capitalized. I'm glad to hear you are getting some real answers for a change. 9 years is too long.

@LadyDuck Yes absolutely, all a money game. So frustrating it was but I am so grateful this doctor now isn't in it for the money. He loves the Lord and his job!

@LadyDuck Oh no, I'm sorry! =( I wish they all had a heart for it and didn't go into it for the wrong reasons.

@LovingMyBabies - Too many doctors do not really care about their patients. I know even too well, my brother is a doctor and he is a brat.

I don't understand why someone doctors don't take on board what parents say about their kids health.
You know your kids inside out.
Doctors don't.

@Ineeddentures Unfortunately they think their degree makes them smarter and better than mothers...at least that's the feeling I always got from them.

@GardenGerty That's such a blessing! The doctors before this one have just been dismissing us.

@AmbiePam Thank you SO much, I am so grateful this finally happened as well. It has been too long for my poor baby. Even at a children's hospital in Atlanta-they said just childhood constipation, it upset me so much because they are supposed to be really good! Thank you, you'd love him in person too-he loves giving everyone hugs around him.
