Two Greetings

First, Happy Valentine’s Day who celebrate. I want to stay home and celebrate with hubs. I dislike going out for sub par dinner and celebrating our love with a bunch of strangers. Second, hubs and I are celebrating from afar and through a phone call to celebrate our grandson’s 16th birthday. He’s at home and hasn’t received his birthday card with a hefty check enclosed that we sent to his school. Either he picks it up when he returns to school or hopefully it’s forwarded back to us. He will let us know if he receives it. As promised, the photo is of the foyer front my older son’s new home taken by me from the upstairs balcony. It’s a marble oval.

You’re not bad Thanks so much. 16 is a bigger deal for girls for some reason. That’s why he’s getting a smaller check and no Chanel bag. I’ll make it up to him on another occasion.

@rebelann I think so. All I know is that when both my boys turned 18, they couldn’t wait to go to college as far away from us as possible

Thanks, but they do have people to hire for that. We also have two humdoozy chandeliers that neither of us can clean or change the bulbs without help.

I remember turning 16. It was pretty special but I think in my era, 17 was starting to become the new 21. lol That's a very lovely foyer.

Thanks about the foyer. I remember my sweet 16 party. We intended to have a barbecue outside, but word got out about it, and the street was lined with cars from two different high schools and our yard must have had over 100 kids. My father was manning the grill making hamburgers and hot dogs and laughing the entire time. I was so happy that he didn’t tell everyone to go home.

Actually, he was very understanding and pleasant about it. He’s such a sweet kid. Hope he stays that way . Hubs told him that he’s always welcome to use our FL place if he doesn’t bring wild lunatic friends and if his parents give him permission. He was really pleased with that. Have a wonderful dinner and Valentine’s Day, too and thank you!

What a beautiful foyer! I love it! Thanks for the Valentine's greetings. I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day, because I think it has become too commercialized, and they make people who don't celebrate it feel guilty for not doing so. I think love should be expressed year-round, not just on one day of the year. I did celebrate with my love, but not in the traditional sense. We went to Epcot at Disney World to attend the Festival of the Arts, where we ate lots of festival food and browsed lots of great art.

I’m so happy you like the foyer. It’s really beautiful in person. We feel the same way about V Day and certain other holidays now. Been there, done that and now enjoy just being together at home. We definitely didn’t want to go to the V Day party in our clubhouse, yesterday. I’m happy you enjoyed your time at Disney.

It’s their second house in NJ. My son commutes to work only on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and can work from home on Monday and Friday. I can’t believe your grandson is 36. It boggles the mind. Happy Valentine’s Day to you, too, you silly! We are staying home and watching movies.
