One occurrence I recall from my first marriage (I remember many, but this one really takes the cake) was when I was about 7-8 months along in my pregnancy. We had been invited to a barbecue at his aunt's apartment. I had gone up to the food table to get seconds on something. A man came up about that same time, and we struck up a conversation. Jim saw it going on and came over to us. He looked the guy right in the eye and said:" You can have her for 50 cents."

@celticeagle My husband surprised me with some of the thoughtless comments he made to me; but no one ever thought he was a jerk. Maybe I just misjudged him for 58 years. Maybe he was a jerk.
