A call from my daughter.

My eldest daughter just called me via whatsapp telling me that her plans had changed and that she would only spend a day with me. I had bought meat, groceries and veggies for her visit. She was supposed to stay several days. I should have known better. This is not the first time she does this to me. Fortunatly I have Martín around. Adopted people are usually much better than blood relatives. I´m pissed.

Fortunatly I did not buy many veggies as they are harder to cook. Meat and groceries can be put away in the freezer or the pantry. I bought mushrooms to make chicken with mushroom sauce but I can use them with Roquefort cheese.

@LadyDuck If I can´t do the chicken tomorrow I´ll have them all for myself baked with Roquefort cheese. I take out the stem and fill the hole with the cheese and butter. I usually cut up the stems to add to salads.

@marguicha - You are so right about vegetables, they do not last for a long time and they are harder to cook. I like a mushroom risotto, but my favorite is chicken with the mushroom sauce.

I'm sorry to hear that this happened and she did this. I do agree that sometimes friends are better than blood relatives.

I suppose it is because you pick your friends.

@marguicha It depends on the way your friend is reared up.

WHY does she do this? I would have dearly loved to have a Mom like you. I am so sorry, you are special and should be treasured.

She has been away from her home for too long and she discovered that she is homesick. But she should have not told me that her visit would be longer.

@marguicha No, she should know that. I am just so sorry.

You sound pissed off right enough I think that I would be pissed off as well I knew when I read the title of the post that something was different to what you posted before about her visit. I take it that her staying at all is not really a good consolation Sorry she has done this to you

Today she told me that she would stay a day and a half. I love her but I don´t understand how a woman 60 and some years of age behaves like a teenage with me. I know that she loves me, but she takes me for granted and thinks that I will always be for her whenever she wants. She has no idea that cooking is not as easy for me as it was years ago.

It is not a big disappointment. I´m used to that. She has always been like that. She thinks that days have 48 hours.

That would be so annoying. Some people have no idea how cancelling a visit can put someone out.

It happens often with my daughters. I suppose that it is because they take me for granted.
