Phone tag

I played phone tag with the cardiology nurse for two days. We finally connected Friday afternoon about 3:30. It turns out the doctor wants Bob back on Lasix--he used to take it--along with his spironolactone. Both of those are diuretics. They are supposed to reduce the extra fluids a person carries who has congestive heart disease. So we had to go to Newton to pick up the prescription today. I called first to make sure it was ordered, not like the other day with the Rx from the ear doctor. While in Newton I got some produce, cat food, and we got a Little Caesar's PIzza to have for lunch while we did laundry. Bob will have to get labs next Friday for this medicine. To see how it is affecting him after a week.

Don't you love playing phone tag? We bought groceries yesterday. I still need to divide up the hamburger and sausage for the freezer. I hope you guys have a good night.

I think Bob is coming down with something. He is chilly and aching. Sleeping a lot and not eating.

@GardenGerty I'm sorry. That could be almost anything. I'd be worried about flu or Covid right now. I hope he feels better quickly.

@DaddyEvil It was not respiratory. He said the new med made him feel better. He also had a urologist appointment with labs. I had a sudden thought it might be a UTI. If it was they will contact us.

I’m on Spironolactone as well. I’m pretty sure I’m on it for PCOS.

It is used for a lot of things. Bob has been on both before, but for a little over a year just the spironolactone.

I just do not have a lot of freedom during the day to be on the phone. I had to actually wait until I was home from work to get the details. She was very good and sent the e prescription while I was on the phone.

This one is helping, he says. We still have medical mysteries to follow, but it is an improvement.

The Lasix (Furosemide) is ototoxic. It may lead to hearing loss if take it for a long time.

Glad we connected. It is hard when you have a job that involves being around other people.

My daytime schedule is tough. Also, I have to shut my ringer off so do not notice a call as quickly. I am sure she had a long list of people to contact as well.

I hope the meds help Bob. I have a Lasix prescription but only had to use it once.

He used to take it all the time. The different meds he takes require a balancing act.
