Ready for My Closeup Mr. Demille

The title comes from a famous movie line. I made sure this duck got his closeup. How close have you been to a duck taking a picture? I was at the edge of the pond and then pulled in the photo. I got one beady little eye too. The lovely pond is in a park in Latvia.

I don't get close to ducks, geese or swans. They can get defensive really fast, especially if they have eggs or babies with them.
I raised geese on the farm for years and finally gave them to a lady who had a huge pond on her property.

@RasmaSandra They wouldn't even get out of the water to lay their eggs. They kept laying them in shallow water which drowned all the goslings.

We had a pet duck once who would watch tv with his head on my shoulder, but we gave him away to my husband's workmate to keep in her giant back yard. Ducks are incredably messy in the house.
