Just popping in before bed

Bob and I both had appointments in Wichita, so I took off work early. By the time we were both finished and on the road again we were both famished.
We chose to go into Wichita and eat at Cracker Barrel. The food was very good, but a bit pricey. He had an omelette, and I had salmon. My sides were broccoli and coleslaw. The portions were generous, but honestly we could have bought a weeks worth of groceries at that price.
We are home and I have had a shower and picked out tomorrow's clothes. Guess I am about ready for bed. Hurray, tomorrow is Thursday---or "Friday Eve" as some would say.

At least you didn't have to cook and clean up! I'm looking forward to going to Red Lobster and Longhorn Steakhouse. I have a gift card for Applebee's; so I want to go there as well.

This is true. The food was ample as well. Bob gets uncomfortable sitting on seats that do not have padding. He is too skinny.

@GardenGerty I have to sit in a booth if available. I get too stiff sitting in a chair. I'm sorry Bob has gotten so skinny.

I hope the appointments went well today. I hope you have a peaceful night.
We've had cards for free food at Subway for years but, every time I suggest we go there to eat, Pretty makes up excuses not to go. *shrug*

Subway runs an excellent "Daily Deal". It is a particular sandwich each day of the week. You get a six inch sub, and either 2 cookies or a bag of chips and a drink. For $6.99. You can up it to a 12 inch for three more dollars. I will meet Jane there and we will both do the bigger meal and feed our husbands as well. I get the cookies and Bob and I each get one.

@GardenGerty I am convinced Pretty hates eating out. She'd rather I slave away in the kitchen every day. She finally offered to take me out to eat a few days ago. (I don't want to eat IN a restaurant, I just want food I didn't cook myself in our kitchen.)
We went to Sonic and had burgers and cheddar cheese bites. I ate most of the cheddar cheese bites and I was stuffed. The next day I cut my burger in half, microwaved it and ate half of it. Today I ate the other half and the rest of the cheddar cheese bites.
Even when the money was mine and I suggested we go get something, she'd tell me we ate out too much when we MIGHT have gone out once in six months. While I was still working, I stopped asking if she wanted to go get something to eat and just bought something in a restaurant on my way home from work and ate it on the drive. I did that once every couple of weeks until I wasn't earning money anymore.
BTW, I stepped on the scales and am down another 10 lbs.
We have an appointment with my regular doctor first thing tomorrow morning. We want to talk to her about me falling lately, the ER visit and what the doctor there found, the ophthalmologist appointment I just had (He told us it wasn't his job to recommend I receive disability even though his nurse told Pretty my eyesight was at the legally blind stage now according to their tests.) and some weird sensations I've been feeling in my feet.

It certainly does. I think the salmon was new on their menu.

Eating outside can be convenient at times but then it might be a bomb on our budget. Well, once in a while is okay. We go for outside dining only on special occasions. Glad that the food was good. There are times when they are not worth the price you spend on them.

It is not unusual for us to pick up something at the grocery store if we need to go to one while we are out . We find sandwiches or wraps, and can buy fresh fruit and juice or tea instead of soda. Healthier and less costly.

It was worth it to not have to go home and cook it myself.

Yes, it is. The meal was good but we will not do it again real soon.

Eating out is just so, so expensive. But at least the food was good, that's something.

And I did not have to prepare it or clean up after it.

I honestly don't mind cooking, but yes, sometimes I wish I had a good fairy to come and do the clean up.
