Touring the Sewers of Paris

Now I am not directly sending you into the sewers of Paris, but I would not mind taking a look myself if I ever venture back to Europe again. The sewers have been open to the public since the World’s Fair of 1867. The interesting thing is that in the old days they explored them in boats during the 19th century. Today you can explore them on foot, and I do believe it is best to keep close to your tour group. Things do go bump in the dark here under Paris. The Paris Sewer Museum offers a unique glimpse into the city's underground history. Located beneath the Quai d'Orsay, this museum showcases the evolution and function of Paris's sewer system from the 14th century to the present day. Visitors can explore various exhibits, including historical artifacts and information about the workers who maintained the sewers. Would you tour the sewers of Paris? I would because I would be looking for the Phantom of the Opera. I have a terrible voice, and perhaps he can improve it for me. Take a look at the canals beneath Paris

I think a sewer tour would be awesome to be honest. Especially in a boat Better than wading through them wearing big rubber boots Paris is a lovely place.

@Ineeddentures I was in Paris only once when I was 16 with my mom and one of my grilfriends, Mom was so watchful of us as we toured the area around Moulin Rouge at night and I got propositioned in French but luckily mom whisted us both away,

They were so clean and well organized. I love everything about Paris. The catacombs were very exciting, too.

@RasmaSandra Very interesting, but don’t try to smuggle out a skull like someone did when we were leaving.

@Juliaacv I think so too. I would probably like to do it by boat; it would remind me of the movie The Phantom of the Opera where they glided through the canals.

I prefer an online tour, sewers smell too bad. We started a sewers tour in Seattle, but stopped as soon as we went down. Too bad smelling.

Europe has such a long history going back hundreds of years. Some of the old buildings have survived centuries despite war destruction. Been to Paris but did not know about this interesting adventure.

In India the present sewer system is in a bad state that no one wants to tour. It needs lot of improvement.

I think I would visit it. I have been to Paris 3 times but I have not heard about that museum. It would be worth a visit.
