War is happening

I just wanted to put this out there. Again, I am seeing articles about who would or would not get drafted if the USA started the draft. Now I don’t know what the odds are of it happening or not. I guess if a real World War started maybe but we were in a conflict for the last what 20 years and there was no draft. I think the young generation should be alright. Seems to me there is nothing to worry about at this point. Speaking of this conflict in Iran, the gas prices of course jumped in the last week and I am not enjoying that. Locally we went from around $2.40 a gallon and as of last night it was at $3.19. Nothing like a $0.79 increase in less than a week. Now I will be spending an extra $8.00 a week. I know doesn’t seem like much but that is another $30-35 a month out of my pocket.

After the 40 cents a gallon jump when the war started, our gas prices haven't jumped again. We're at $3 a gallon here. I still have 3/4 of a tank of gas. We don't drive much anymore. I haven't seen anything about a draft but I don't expect it to happen, either. I'm too old now (besides all my health problems) and Pretty is my registered carer.

@Bensen32 I had three brothers who joined the military but none of them were drafted. (One was forced to join by a judge but that brother was an idiot. )

Yeah, I am older than draft age but if they called, I would go, been there done that. Also, my kids are too old for the draft age, and the grandkids are too young.

I think it's ironic that there is talk of the draft on America again when a draft dodger is President How funny is that? I would say make the draft happen Make it compulsory for everyone between 18 and 21, no exemptions and make it for 2 years. I hope they bring it back on the UK as well and make it really hard, like when I was in the Army That would sort a lot of these snowflake fairy socially anxious don't know what there are mf,s out. No excuses, straight , gay, Bi, trans, Make them all do it Toughen the young generation up Give them hell

Yeah, why not but then again not sure I would want them next to me in combat. I always kind of thought why don't we have a mandatory service many other countries do. I think it would be good for a lot of these kids.

@Ineeddentures LOL yeah I mean there are pretty much the same jobs in the civilian side that people could do in the military.

@Bensen32 Mandatory Service, a great idea It would be good for kids right enough I would draft them all, disabled included, I'm sure there are jobs they could do also. I wouldn't exempt anyone No draft Dodgers on my watch

Yeah, I don't either but it's not the first time this is coming when a combat action starts up.

The jump in gas prices certainly has hit hard and it's not only a few cents it's jumped. Same going on here in PA

Yeah and it keeps going up another $0.05 over night, 84 cents in a week is crazy.

If Trump puts “boots on the ground “ the possibility of the draft is definitely going to be on the table. And he has stated that he possibly will do that.

The younger generation of being drafted wouldn't like that but I don't really think the draft WILL come back but it sure needs to to show the 1's that NEED to be drafted what it's like to become men like back in the drafting days. As far as the gas prices goes, we haven't been out to get gas in a few wks cause we mostly stay home between paying bills & buying groceries once a month, so we save on gas that way & we fill up every other month,

Yeah, I dont see the draft coming back anytime soon. Things would have to go terribly wrong for that to happen. Yeah, I try not to drive anytime I can help it. It's too expensive.

@Bensen32 "It's too expensive." There's that & there's really no reason to just waste gas when there's really no place to go that's worth wasting gas on.
