This just happened

Someone just rang the doorbell twice and then banged on the door.
Since I was not expecting anyone, I did not go to open the door.
Nor did I feel comfortable doing that.
Then, I heard voices but couldn’t make out what they were saying.
I thought of maybe trying to look out the living room window to see who’s there, but I hesitated and just remained sitting on the couch.
Then I heard a car drive off.
I wonder who that was and why the need to bang on the door.
I’m a little on edge right now.
I hope they don’t return.

I pray they don't come back. Hopefully it was a case of the wrong house. So sorry you had to deal with that!

Oh dear.
I imagine that now you are on your own that it could be quite frightening this happening.
Have you checked messages and emails incase someone said they were coming round to see you.
You should phone Lenny and see if he knows anything about it
Do you have a door bell camera, if not , get one or get a CCTV camera
If it happens again do not open the door until you know who it is and are sure it's safe to open the door
Have your doors got strong locks,
How about the windows?
Don't open the door unless you are 100% sure it's safe
And if you feel threatened
Phone the cops

The main house lock is really good! The storm door lock doesn’t close properly anymore I think. No doorbell camera.

Yes. First two rings and right after they started banging. Didn’t even wait before banging.

I'm sorry that happened. I would say you need to get a ring doorbell so you can see who is there before you open the door.
