7 days until spring. Ohio weather has always been unpredictable; but this is nuts. Up and down. One day you can go out without a jacket...next day it could s**w. I'm going to ask my PCP about the Shield blood test. This one is supposed to detect colon cancer and is covered by insurance. The landlord gave the OK for cousin #2 to put in a garden; so she's all gung-ho on that now. Breakfast - Granola bar Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Sloppy Joe, cauliflower, BEETS (yuck), fruit cocktail Dessert/Snack - Brownie Dinner - Turkey/vegan cheese sandwich, sweet potato chips, yogurt What did you eat yesterday? Yes, that's the test I just took. Hopefully, she understands how much work goes into keeping a garden alive and healthy. I've eaten the last of the barbecued chicken for breakfast, ate steamed broccoli and spices for lunch and had two polish franks in buns for supper last night.

She's had a garden before. She spends hours outside anyway.

@LindaOHio I hope she enjoys herself. It's a lot hotter during the summer in Florida.

@DaddyEvil It was 69 the other morning; and she put a jacket on. She's usually cold. 69 to me is no jacket weather!

I'm happy about her garden, planning something like that is such great fun. Yesterday, I had a toasted peanut butter and banana sandwich for lunch, and a turkey club wrap with a pickle for supper.

@LindaOHio Thanks, I just got back from the grocery shopping. Prices have jumped so much since I last went 2 weeks ago. Without buying any meat, groceries for the 2 of us ran over $200.

I always learn something new from you. Shield blood test would be very helpful for me. I would be as excited as your cousin to be able to put in a garden, too. Vegetable? Flowers? Both?

Lol! I don't like beets, either. I like most veggies, but for whatever reason, a lot of root vegetables, like turnips, beets, and radishes, don't agree with me. I'm fine with carrots and sweet potatoes, though. Our weather had been wacky, too - it went from the 40s to the 70s and 80s and then right back down over the course of about a week and a half.

@LindaOHio turnips aren't as bitter as radishes, but they have a very earthy taste.

It seems like just yesterday when you began your spring countdown. Yesterday, I ate a piece of Asiago cheese, half a piece of macaroni n cheese, half a piece of spinach pizza, and a can of chicken noodle soup with vegetables.

You're certainly right about the weather being crazy. Last night my heat came on and it's cold and windy here today. Your MOWs ....I like all those but they just don't seem to go together. I wouldn't eat cauliflower or beets with sloppy joes. I'm in a food rut and last night we had chicken (again) with roasted red potatoes and sugar snap peas.

Monday it was 76 degrees here. Thursday night we had snow flurries. Crazy weather is right! Sloppy Joe sounds good. When I was in college that was a frequent item served in the cafe for lunch. I would get 2 they were so tasty! I had pizza tonight. Can't go wrong there.
