1976 Songs: Long May You Run

Everyone knows it’s windy! Sorry, you’ll have to wait until next year for that song (it was released in 1967), but the weather is right here, right now! The wind can blow us back to 1976 and another song that’s been around for half a century now. Long May You Run - The Stills-Young Band Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. It’s like a combo meal at a restaurant. You can get them à la carte, or you can get the Crosby Nash combo, the Stills Young combo, or the Crosby, Stills, and Nash big combo in addition to the super combo. In 1976 you had Crosby and Nash doing Whistling Down the Wire, so Stephen Stills and Neil Young teamed up for an album. This is the title track from that album, a song about Young’s 1948 Buick Roadmaster. We all love our cars, don’t we. While this did nothing in AM radio, it got considerable airplay on FM radio and remains a popular Neil Young tune. Yes indeed I know about Crosby Stills Nash and Young Well I know they were a thing But apart from having a heart of cold and be able ask if it was Johnny Nash.....
