Yes, I was and so I baked a rectangle Ube chiffon cake last night. This afternoon, after making the Ube Halaya frosting for my cake, I sliced the cake into 3 parts, I decorated them. The remaining side slices of the cake and Ube Halaya frosting, I made them into another small cake and 2 cups of Greek yoghurt chiffon cake dessert.
I will freeze most of them for later when I have Filipina visitors or when I crave for this food again. Of course I share this cake with my bff when we see each other again in a day or two. There’s no bakery who sells Ube Chiffon cake here where I live and so I always make my own.
Btw, Ube is purple yam root. I can’t buy that here in an Asian shop but thankfully my best friend bought purple yam powder in the Philippines when she was there last year on vacation.
Thanks for reading. I hope everything is okay with you and your family. Happy Friday everyone.

That sounds so interesting, I will have to see if we have that here as we do have some Filipin and other Asian people living here. I live close to an Army base where they might have some, I need to ask my friend to see if they have any there.

I know there is a variety of yams and sweet potatoes offered in some of our grocery stores but until now I never paid much attention to them, I never learned how to bake but a friend of mine loves to bake pies for her husband, I told her about your Ube and she wants to try to find them.

The first time I tried mochi was yesterday. It was a product of Taiwan. I saw the package of mochi in TKMax shop and so bought it as I have heard about this snack before. I have eaten 2 small packs but I didn’t really like them. I ate them as I was so hungry. I will bring the remaining mochi when we have a bonding with my friends again later this week. Thanks @valherma00

I heard there is a Filipino restaurant I. London that sells Ube cakes, ice cream and other desserts. It’s delicious that my husband like it, too. Thanks @Ineeddentures
