Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

We had a wonderful dinner at an Italian restaurant yesterday. The owner remembered us and suggested appetizers, veal Parmesan, wines, and stopped by our table between courses to chat with us. His veal Parmesan was different from what I usually have, but HUGE and delicious!
I ordered the stuffed zucchini flowers for an appetizer, and they were unlike anything I’ve had before.
We stopped by our friend, Sandi’s place after dinner last night to find out how her husband is doing in the hospital. Not well. Disoriented, URI, blood issues, etc.
Today, hubs left early to pick up bread that Sandi needed. It wasn’t ready, so he killed time by shopping for new slacks. However, we had a huge downpour and he walked on a divide in a parking lot, slipped in the wood chips, cut up his forehead and the bridge of his nose.
He was soaked and still had wood chips all over him, the car, and on his new pair of slacks. Had to help strip him in the kitchen, which wasn’t easy, and while he showered, I vacuumed and washed the tiles, and threw in his laundry along with 3 other loads.
Neosporined his face, cancelled his therapy session, and he insisted on cleaning the car from wood chips and getting Sandi’s bread from the bakery. My brother called and offered to pick it up, but stubborn husband refused.
Sandi called to say she was home, so I had to cut off a 1 1/2 hour FaceTime from our younger son to deliver her bread and stayed to find out about her husband’s condition today. Still not good. When I returned, my hubs was still gabbing away to my son.
Finally, have my martini (as you can probably tell from my writing), but my older sister in law suddenly stopped by. Of all days…..
Tomorrow, my nephew and his girlfriend of 5 weeks will be staying in my place overnight. My brother is having a birthday dinner at some restaurant I can’t remember. Sunday breakfast here. Sunday late lunch at my brother’s condo.
So much to do, and so little time. Friday the 13th has not been good to us today. But I am happy that hubs is ok and that we have leftovers for dinner tonight.

Your poor hubby. I don't venture out when it's raining or other kinds of weather that can cause slippery conditions. Better safe than sorry.
I pray your friend and her husband will get really good news really soon and that his condition gets a lot better.

It was just a bit cloudy when he left. That’s Florida weather for you. Hubs will be fine, but not too pretty to look at for a while.
It really doesn’t look promising for our friend’s husband, I hate to say. She’s a fighter, but we will know more at the end of March when she goes back home for treatment. Big sigh…..

@DianneN - It's so important to know how to fall, but when we lose our balance we often do the best we can.
I love veal chops and it's a long time that I do not find real good veal to buy. My neighbor told me where there is a good butcher, she will drive me there.

Thank you. Rehab hasn’t yet taught him the right way to fall, obviously. Wait until they see him Monday!
He claims to be fine with no pain. He just looks disgusting.
It’s best to stay home if you can. When hubs left the house it didn’t look like rain. But Florida weather could change in an instant by just one cloud.
That veal was huge! What you can see in the photo is what was left over to be brought home. I usually get thin slices served in restaurants or a thick, but much smaller veal chop.

@LadyDuck Hubs tried to do the best he could in that situation. He now has a black eye and hurt his ring finger. It’s not broken, but stiff and swollen. He couldn’t put his wedding ring on, so I told him not to try picking up any girls
My brother told me about a place here in Florida where he buys his veal. $48 a pound for the chops! No wonder our bill was so high. I didn’t care, but hubs is still complaining about it
I’m glad your neighbor will drive you to the butcher. Just bring a lot of money with you!

@DianneN You're welcome.
You could always put a paper bag over his head so nobody knows you beat him up...
True, he could have gotten hurt a lot worse than he did. At least he should heal in a few days. Stressful days always leave me sleepless, too.

@DaddyEvil Thanks for your advice. I was considering putting a plastic bag over his head and tying it tightly around his neck.

Thanks. I’m sorry, too, and he certainly is. He’s still a mess this morning, but we must carry on with our weekend plans. I’m just glad it’s not as worse as it could have been.
I couldn’t sleep last night from the stress of the day, but was so grateful to enjoy the evening without something else going on.

@thelme55 I’m sorry to hear that about your husband. He was lucky not to have hit his head.
My husband now has a black eye and a swollen ring finger from the fall. He can’t wear his wedding ring and feels badly about it. I told him that he better not try to pick up girls

A few months ago, my mother had slipped on some steps at her work and skidded up her nose. She looked terrible, but she was fine. A few days later it finally healed.

Thank goodness nothing worse happened to her. I’m happy your mother healed so quickly.
My husband is looking better every day except for the black eye he received. He still can’t wear his wedding ring, because he must have hurt his finger. It’s swollen, but thank goodness nothing is broken. Never a dull moment!

Thank you. His rehab center still hasn’t taught him how to fall properly. When they see him Monday, they’ll get right on it I hope. He will be fine thank goodness. On the other hand, Sandi’s husband won’t be
I have to make up the beds in the guest bedroom and put out towels for the kids. They’re taking the train from Miami, and my brother will pick them up. I can’t wait to meet his new girlfriend and see him. Hopefully, we will all have a wonderful weekend, including you!
