Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

We had a wonderful dinner at an Italian restaurant yesterday. The owner remembered us and suggested appetizers, veal Parmesan, wines, and stopped by our table between courses to chat with us. His veal Parmesan was different from what I usually have, but HUGE and delicious! I ordered the stuffed zucchini flowers for an appetizer, and they were unlike anything I’ve had before. We stopped by our friend, Sandi’s place after dinner last night to find out how her husband is doing in the hospital. Not well. Disoriented, URI, blood issues, etc. Today, hubs left early to pick up bread that Sandi needed. It wasn’t ready, so he killed time by shopping for new slacks. However, we had a huge downpour and he walked on a divide in a parking lot, slipped in the wood chips, cut up his forehead and the bridge of his nose. He was soaked and still had wood chips all over him, the car, and on his new pair of slacks. Had to help strip him in the kitchen, which wasn’t easy, and while he showered, I vacuumed and washed the tiles, and threw in his laundry along with 3 other loads. Neosporined his face, cancelled his therapy session, and he insisted on cleaning the car from wood chips and getting Sandi’s bread from the bakery. My brother called and offered to pick it up, but stubborn husband refused. Sandi called to say she was home, so I had to cut off a 1 1/2 hour FaceTime from our younger son to deliver her bread and stayed to find out about her husband’s condition today. Still not good. When I returned, my hubs was still gabbing away to my son. Finally, have my martini (as you can probably tell from my writing), but my older sister in law suddenly stopped by. Of all days….. Tomorrow, my nephew and his girlfriend of 5 weeks will be staying in my place overnight. My brother is having a birthday dinner at some restaurant I can’t remember. Sunday breakfast here. Sunday late lunch at my brother’s condo. So much to do, and so little time. Friday the 13th has not been good to us today. But I am happy that hubs is ok and that we have leftovers for dinner tonight.

Your poor hubby. I don't venture out when it's raining or other kinds of weather that can cause slippery conditions. Better safe than sorry. I pray your friend and her husband will get really good news really soon and that his condition gets a lot better.

It was just a bit cloudy when he left. That’s Florida weather for you. Hubs will be fine, but not too pretty to look at for a while. It really doesn’t look promising for our friend’s husband, I hate to say. She’s a fighter, but we will know more at the end of March when she goes back home for treatment. Big sigh…..

Too much to handle in a day. Like life itself, the ups and downs within a day. Happy All's Well That Ends Well, despite the anxieties thrown in.

Very wise words. I had trouble sleeping last night because of it all.

Sorry about your husbands’ fall. That was scary. Friday the 13th was not good to you. I hope there’ll be no scars left in his forehead.

Hmm, the kind of adventures you don't want to have. I bet a martini will never taste so good

To be honest, it took the sting out of the day. Two would have been perfect.

I should probably start the day with a martini instead of coffee. He would never admit to me if he’s sore. He may tell you, however.

Goodness, what a day! I'm glad hubby wasn't more badly hurt. I guess it could have been much worse.

Yes, it was a pretty rotten day. And yes, it could have been much worse. He looks pretty beat up this morning.
