After one of my posts about a lighthouse, I realized that even if you live in a country for a long time, you don’t always visit lighthouses, so I did some research and chose to introduce you to some of the well-known lighthouses in Latvia.
Kolka Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse known as Kolkas baka, located off the coast of Latvia. The lighthouse is located in the Kurzeme region of Latvia. It stands on an artificial island and was first lit in 1884 to guide vessels safely around Cape Kolka, marking the eastern entrance to the Irbe Strait from the Gulf of Riga. It is only accessible by vessel.

You're right, I've lived in the US all my life and never been to a lighthouse.
I have been up in fire towers, though.

@DaddyEvil I did get to a lighthouse in Maine but not more than that, In Latvia even though it is a small country to get to other parts from where you live you really need a car and once we no longer had a car transportation to far off places can get expensive plus you need a place to stay,

@RasmaSandra I totally understand that. Just going to a grocery store in the same city when you live out in the boonies means either drive or ask a friend to drive you there and home again. The closest Walmart to us it over 2 miles away.

@Deepizzaguy many of the lighthouses are in areas along the coast that are not too inhabited.
