Can this be done?

I had a dentist appointment beginning of the month. The insurance is out of network so I pay when I finish my appointment and then a reimbursement check is mailed out, if applicable. Since my husband is a subscriber of the insurance, the reimbursement checks are always made out to him. And this one that came is the same.
I wonder if I call the insurance if they will be able to reissue the check and make it out to me instead of to him. We’re currently separated and I really don’t want to contact him to take the check and give me the money. It’s only $44 but I would hate to lose that money especially since I had to pay $150.

Will have to try to do that. Not sure they will even talk to me if I’m not the subscriber.

@Ineeddentures I may have to forfeit the $44.

I don't know. We don't use out-of-network places.
I would say call them and see what they say.

The dentist we go to, at first the insurance my husband had was in network, but then his insurance changed and for the last number of years it’s out of network.

@lovebuglena That really sucks! I'd hate trying to find a new dentist because the job changed their insurance carrier.

@DaddyEvil I really don’t wanna contact my husband to give me the money for the dentist reimbursement and take the check. At the same time I don’t wanna lose the $44. I didn’t contact the insurance yet, but I highly doubt that they’ll be able to reassure the check to my name.

As I mentioned before...call and explain the situation to them.
