Yes, today we celebrate this day in my country. I think Portugal,Spain and Belgium celebrate it the same day as well.
Since 9a.m. to 3 p.m. today our ministry of population decided to treat fathers who came with their children to gifts. For several years, dads could take a father's leave.
Fathers are hard to replace but i feel,at least here, it's still everything on women, every kind of responsibility and yes,for Mother's Day or Women's Day,there were no gifts for women and mothers and taking a leave is a miracle.
Also, my father was always jelaous of my mum,of my love for her but he never tried to be a better husband or a better father and yes, father isn't there just for telling jokes or saying same stuff like, ask your mother. He kept his image only, which will fade away eventually;i feel, it already has.
If you have or had good fathers and father figures in your life, i congratulate you this day, maybe sooner or later.
Xoxo

Wait, fathers get leave on Father’s Day, but on Mother’s Day, mothers don’t?! That is crazy!
I’m blessed to have a wonderful father. We’ve had our problems, but he’s always been there for me. With my mom deceased, I’m so grateful Ii still have him.

not on father's day or mother's day, when they need to, to be present and spend more time with kids when they are little. sorry for your mum. yes, wonderful parents should be cherished; i'm so glad he was there for you

@valherma00 Joseph is considered the legal father of Jesus, as he was married to Mary, but he is not Jesus' biological father. He was the earthly father of Jesus. The father of my husband was 25 years older than his mother. My husband is 5 years older than me.

I am blessed to have had wonderful parents. Unfortunately, they didn't live long enough to see me through my teenage years till adulthood.

That's too bad. Mothers should be respected as well. Although the husband works to provide for the family, the mother is a central force in keeping the household running smoothly. She works just as hard.
Our country celebrates Fathers and Mothers Days equally. Mothers maybe more so.
My dad was a great role model, worked hard to provide, treated my mother with love and generosity providing a good life for her and our family. This from a man who never graduated H.S. He always wanted the best for his children and supported us in whatever we did. When my mom was ill and suffering from diabetes, he took over many of the chores.
Sorry your dad did not turn out as you wanted...

what a great did. i agree that mothers and women should be respected more and how we envolve, it seems less and less. thank you. i really gave him so many chances and lost my health and myself in the middle of him not trying at all. maybe in another life, as some say
