My Grandson is the Calming Force in Our Lives

I am such an over thinker I nearly drive myself to distraction. Here's what happened:
My daughter got three letters back that she had sent to her daughter, Miranda, over the last year. She told me just as she was heading to bed lastnight. My granddaughter lives in Washington with two of her three children. She has lived at the same address for several years. We haven't heard from her in ages. So, me being the worry wart of the family I woke up today feeling worried and fretting. I called my daughter and grandson into my room and told they of my worried mind. My daughter was stoic as usual but my grandson had some good input. He felt she was doing fine and just had not realized she hadn't given us her knew address. I had been ready to call and have a welfare check done. The letters my daughter had gotten back were from all last year. All unopened. But, he made sense. He saw no reason for worrying. Okay. That's where we sit. He has a very calming affect and does make sense.
I guess I feel better for now.

I'm not sure about Washington State, but Missouri will forward mail if it's sent to an old address as long as the old address isn't from several years ago. If she lives in the same city, you can call the Post Office and ask if there's been a change of address for her. They MIGHT give you the new address.

Well, I guess Washington doesn't. I doubt they would give us a new address.

@celticeagle Yeah, if they didn't forward the mail, I didn't think they'd give you a new address. It was worth a try, though.

@DaddyEvil I just had something returned to me- I am in WA state- and nobody looked up a new address. They just kept the money I spent on postage.

It's just that my grandson is such a grounding force in the family.

@celticeagle We all need a grounding force in our families. My husband is mine, and I am so happy your grandson is yours.

Glad he was able to calm you down. Hope you hear from them
You could try searching her name and old address. You might be able to find some information by doing that.

What makes you think that she has moved ?
Do you have a phone number for her or her children ?

@celticeagle it might mean she doesn’t want to hear from you …… ( sorry if it sounds mean ….its just another option ) they came back unopened not stating NOT KNOWN AT THIS ADDRESS .
I would worry if I thought my daughter had moved and I didn’t have her address, and I didn’t know where she was .
It’s unusual for people with children not to have a phone of some sort ….what would happen if you needed to get in touch with each other urgently !
