Nice afternoon surprise

My world has had mild temperatures with lots of rain. This morning I let the dogs out into the yard and thought, More rain! Hubby and I are listening to another audio book. Neither of us slept well. Toward afternoon he headed back upstairs for a rest. I noticed light shining through the window so I decided to wake up and investigate. Sweet wsrm air waited for me. I hoed out grass from the brick walk that I discovered a couple of years ago. I let Peter and Beau Teak cats outside but made Rufus stay in. Fifteen minutes of hoe work and I decided enough. At least something got done. I could see more bricks. Then I did a walk about. I found an orange flower and yellow daffodils flowering in small bunches up and down the property. I also discovered a gathering of white daffodils under the largest apple tree. Somebody back in the day had been busy. I put Rufus on the long line in the back yard then sat on the swing for a few minutes. Busy noisy birds tried to out shout traffic noise. This was my first swing sitting time this year. Hubby was up and sitting in his living chair when I came back in to start supper. The gardens always get me up and moving. The winter has been so mild that the grass is unruly and growing but its too wet to do anything about it other than to cheer it on.
