Six lifeguards who were on duty at the South Beach Park in Vero Beach Florida answered an emergency call on Monday afternoon when a male swimmer needed to be rescued in the Atlantic Ocean.
One of the lifeguards went to the ocean with a life ring since the other lifesaving equipment was put away for the afternoon.
The swimmer was struggling to stay afloat when four to six foot surf and rip currents when the lifeguards were able to rescue the swimmer and take him to the shore where the firefighters of the Indian River County Fire Rescue acknowledged lifeguards Shayne Roycroft, Travis Matschner, Anthony Hernandez, Tommy Nichelson, Matt Brownlee, and Shaun Dibble for the successful rescue of the swimmer who is in good spirits.

You are right since their job is very hard to rescue someone in the water.

That is good to use more than one lifeguard to save the man, as there is more safety in numbers. It was good the man is none the worse for wear, apart from a bit of a scare.

That is true that three is strength in numbers.

I have a terrible irrational fear of drowning. I cannot swim. I stay where my feet touch bottom and I can grab the side of the pool.

I do not blame you for being scared of being near water.
