Finding 5 cents on the ground. O, well:)

And i was thinking should i pick it up or not and i decided i will This happened while i was taking my walk. During my teaching gigs, kids often mentioned to me they used to find money on the ground and i hoped i could find some bigger amount too like, 5 dollars just, in my case, it's 5 cents but it's okay. Maybe in the future. We shouldn't be too greedy although, if we don't have a job or don't have a pension yet, every amount is welcomed. Actually, there is a story when i was a high school student and there was some money near the atm when i was taking a walk after school. I was with my female colleague and funny thing is she grabbed the money immediatelly and i tried talking her out, being scared someone is filming us. Although she didn't offer to share it, I said i won't take the money and she spent it later on clothes. I must say, she turned out not being nice to me later or i didn't see her true colours but i didn't regret not taking money until i needed it like, after my college graduation years but, we can't go back to the past. If i spotted 50 dollars today, i would take it, i think Also, I had a pretty windy walk and i had to put my cap on. Spring, come on

I've watched someone drop money or their wallet on the ground and quickly told them they dropped something. When I find money on the ground without anyone else nearby, I picked it up. If I find a wallet or purse, I've checked for ID and called the person who lost it so I could return it. If there is no ID in the wallet or purse, I take it to the police station and tell them where I found it and that I checked for ID but there wasn't any. Once, the police called me a month later and gave me the money contained in a wallet I'd turned in to them since the owner hadn't claimed it. Pretty and I pick up coins we find on the ground. She usually doesn't have pockets and tells me to keep coins for her.

@valherma00 I had to answer a lot of questions when I turned the wallet in but that was to make sure who I was and how to contact me if nobody claimed it. Then they had to know where I found it so they'd know the owner if one showed up.

i've told people when they dropped their accessories but wallets, that was rare. i've heard that police, at least here, even if you return documents, they ask a bunch of questions, like you stole the wallet in the first place. i'm glad your experience was more positive and police rewarding you. picking up coins is definelty fun

Well, if I find money, I take it. If I don't someone else would do and surely not the one who lost the money. If I see someone dropping the money, I call them. A woman last week paid for grocery and forgot her wallet near the cashier. I immediately called her.

i would also call the people if they are dropping something just, i've done that only with their accessories; when one lady dropped her scarf, i literally yelled after her cause she didn't hear me or thought i was't refering to her that was very nice of you at the grocery store. i also think the same that if noone is around, i'm taking the money cause, if i try to be a hero, someone would make me a thief so, why bother.

I love finding money randomly. Even when it is a penny it still is a stroke of luck.

I’ve seen people drop money and gave it back to them immediately. I’ve also found lots of money on the road or sidewalk with no one around. Of course I picked it up, put it in my found money jar, and washed my hands.

o, you're right, washing hands is must. o, you have a money jar? that's awesome! i would also give money back, if i see people dropping them. honestly, there was this one time that i was convinced that one man dropped the money but said to some teenage girl to take it. i found it shaddy and said to her not to take it but she took it anyway. it was a strange situation and we were all waiting a tram at the tram station.

@valherma00 My older son was going to a baseball game at Yankee Stadium and saw a large bill on the ground. As he was about to pick it up, his father in law told him not to touch it. It was a scam and he would have been beaten up if he touched it. One has to be very careful in this day and age. So sad!

I usually find around a dime or penny on the sidewalk near my home when I go outside to throw out the trash.

One of my friends, who is from a very poor family, had once found a purse lying on a road near the railway station. The purse contained Rs 5000. A big sum. I was with him. He said to me that he would return the purse to its owner if he happened to find him. We stood there waiting the person looking for the purse. After fifteen minutes we saw a man looking down on the road and coming towards us. He looked very restless. My friend enquired him what he was looking for. Soon it was confirmed that the purse was his. My friend handed over the purse to him. He was so much overwhelmed that he offered my friend to join him as a partner of his business. Rs 5000 is eqialto around 54 USD.

I always pick up change off the ground. When we were kids my brother was always finding money-- ten dollar bills and the like. I believe that the most I've ever found on the ground was a $20.

I used to find loads of money at the bus station....sadly since most people pay with their phones now there is very little money dropped ! Oh well, never mind. Well done on finding money, no matter how small the amount.

I have found money on the ground before. If I saw someone drop it, I would definitely grab it and return it to them quickly or call to them to let them know. Usually there's no one around when I find it. One time there were people around and I asked a vendor nearby if he saw who dropped it and he said no, go ahead and keep it, so I did, but I told him to please let me know if anyone came to ask for it. I would pick up a coin, too, because as you said, every little bit helps.
