An interesting development

Things can be slow out here in rural America, there hasn't been a lot of news around the lake other than an unfortunate soul drowning..a few days ago. Well, a few different projects around people don't support and what not, but not much real news. I just found out that the Dollar General is becoming a Dollar General Market meaning they will sell produce. That is good news, because sometimes I just need a head of lettuce or some fruit and I have to head up to the Food Lion 8 miles away to get it. Dollar General is half that distance. It is going to save me having to go to Food Lion when I just need bananas or something, plus it will probably expand their inventory quite a bit. I went to one one time on the road..and found it pretty well stocked. If all goes well, this new market will be open next Friday, so I will have to check it out. Any news in your world?

It is handy to have stuff closer. Even Dollar General is 12 miles from us, and yes, they have produce. The one twenty three miles away has even better stuff and fresh meat. My life is pretty boring right now.

I wish we had Dollar General Market. A Dollar General is right next to my apartment complex, but it isn’t a market.
The buzz around here is that the bid to build a brand new homeless shelter was approved in the vote Tuesday. I feel terrible for the people that live in that area. It’s going to cause all sorts of trouble for them. However, we have a real problem, and it has to go somewhere.

They must be making money with their markets. I don't do it much, but I do know a lot of people out here shop at them for food.
