I just got an email from my friend, Mark. I spent Easter with his family and brought him some green bean seeds. I am glad to see them poking through. He and his wife have a nice back yard, and grow everything from succulents to smokables to pretty flowers to corn. I'll put some corn and sunflower seeds in my pocket for next time I visit them. Things are poking through on my balcony as well. I'll take a picture soon.

I love the joy of seeing seeds sprout. It is so fulfilling I hope your beans thrive. My mangetout beans are going bald from snails shaving it. Last year they ended up eating all the leaves before it produced any fruit.

@TheHorse I used to be happy to share my plants with them but last year they were too greedy. This time I actually binned them out of frustration they never stop coming.

I toss snails over the fence when I find them "attacking" my gardens.

I'm glad you didn't get arrested for planting anything this time.

One has to engage in legal activities sometimes.

@TheHorse True but that doesn't mean you'll actually do it, though.

Those are at my friend's house. I am sure he will water them. My balcony garden (and my various illegal plantings) have received a lot of rain.recently.

@TheHorse - Rain is so much better than tap water.

It's like watching small miracles to see seeds shooting and poking up through the dirt.

It is. In an odd way,it's like playing with a 20-month-old human.

Not huge. Just a typical suburban backyard.
