Confusing Medical Records

Well, it’s 2am, and due to a much needed nap yesterday, I am awake. I have a cardiologist appointment at 9am today, and they texted me a link to fill out paperwork, so that’s what I have been doing. It’s so much easier to do the paperwork prior to the appointment. As I was listing my medication, and writing medications in the box, a list of medications were brought up as I typed in the names. Only, something weird happened. I typed in the letter “O” as the first letter of my medication, and what popped up? Olay Total Effects…say what? An face cream you can get in the grocery store? I remember my mom used that when she was alive. That’s not a medication. Have you guys ever noticed anything weird when filling out paperwork for your doctor visit?

Luckily, with son's medical records they all have been transferred to the main city hospital and their gazillion satellite sites, etc. except for 2 providers that are in another city and not affiliated with the local larger hospital. So we don't have to fill much out anymore, and OH, am I ever thankful Such a hassle, and often time consuming and frustrating.

There may be something in it that is considered contraindicative of some meds. I don't know just guessing on the weird lol. Did you know that oxygen is a medication

That was the only thing that I could think of too. I assumed I just hadn’t heard the news about it. You mean like an oxygen tank?

@AmbiePam Yup. If it comes from a tank it is considered a medication and needs to be put down on the report.

I've never noticed anything weird filling out that paperwork prior to a visit. That is kind of weird that Olay popped up.

Good luck with your appointment. Never had a problem like that, but most of my information is already in the system.

I was supposed to fill in forms today but I can no longer find the forms on my phone. I wish they'd just email it to me.

I’m with you. It’s fine to text them, but they should also email them.

I don't think so. Maybe the dermatologist sometimes prescribes it.

i think if it's with my gp, then there is no paperwork. they have it online but they are always typing what i say to them when i visit them in person so, it's the same. i hope it went well
