My Amazon account has been hacked …..

I just tried to get into my Amazon account to place an order and I couldn’t log in …..usually, it comes up straight away.
Now I see my email address has been changed …it’s now something quite peculiar……
I can only think it’s been hacked.
Luckily for me there was only a few pounds in the account but tomorrow I will have to contact them and get it sorted out .
What a pain !

That's really terrible.
Several years ago, a celebrity, a crowned Miss Universe, sent me a DM on twitter informing me that my account might have been hacked coz I had been sending spam to her through DM. It was very kind of her to inform me. And indeed it was so I changed my password right away.

I have emailed them but have to wait till tomorrow to try and speak to someone. As I can’t sign in I can’t go on live chat ….. im just pleased there was only a few pounds in the account . It makes me wonder if they have hacked anything else !

@Traceyjayne These things are disconcerting and can leave one feeling vulnerable. I hope you get it sorted. Some daft eejit keeps bombarding me with emergency messages telling me I have to buy more storage or my photos and file will all disappear.

I am getting that on my phone …i keep getting messages every few minutes …how can we stop it…do you know ?

It’s never happened to me. I don’t have any money in my account, but it’s a worry that it can happen. I hope you get it sorted easily and quickly.

@Orson_Kart ….there can only be about £3 in the account….i know I have to top it up. I use the money I get from my receipt apps. I don’t have a card attached to the account.

@LeaPea I have no idea …..I asked the guy I spoke to today and he didn’t know either but did say it happens occasionally.

@LindaOHio The Mister had his Facebook account hacked last year ....all sorts of videos were sent supposedly from him ....luckily we were alerted quite quickly and managed to let people know not to open anything .....why do these people do this ? what do they get out of it !
