Hello dear friends.
Yesterday Martín came. He was thin. I don´t know if it was part of his long cold or if it is because his parents are away and he doesn´t eat properly. He came at noon and made himself 2 sandwichs while he heated a couple of his favorite empanadas. He is coming for lunch on Friday. It is holiday here as it is Labor´s Day. I told him that we would cook a wonderful meal but that he would have to help me.
Diego did not arrive. He messaged me that he had found a job for a couple of days while he waited for a better job. I Messaged him back telling him that I would try to freeze the nice food I´d made for him. I don´t know if he is telling me the truth but I do know that he loves me. But I can´t help him fight with his demons.
So I ate part of the delicious sweet and sour pork I´d made and will freeze the rest.
I´m still working with the old laptop. I have not been able to get someone to help me with the new one.

Martin might depend on his mother to do the shopping in their house. At least you have food and Martin isn't worried about helping himself when he's hungry.
It is possible that he can help you set up the new laptop when he's there this weekend.

I just hope that Martín helps me with cooking and washing dishes. I don´t like to stand up in front of the sink or range for too long a time.

@marguicha I understand. I'm sure Martin understands that, too, and will help you.
I put a chair in the kitchen so I can sit down while I'm waiting on different parts of the food to be ready. I try to walk back and forth across the kitchen but, sometimes, my legs just start giving out and I have to sit down.

I know people that can help me with the laptops but they will have to come on a week end. Everyone works.

He had a big cold and he did not want me to catch it. So he stayed away for a while. But I missed him.

He had a 2 week awful cold. And now that his mother is away he is not eating as well.

It does sound like Martin is struggling to get enough to eat. He knows you will feed him if he visits, he is your special friend, I know. And even though Diego didn't come, at least he has some work he can do while he is trying to get a better job.
I love sweet and sour pork, I bet yours is delicious!

Martín usualy eats fast food when his mom is not around. I told him when he came that he could come here every day while they are away. Even a sandwich here is better than some fast food chains.

@MarieCoyle Here fast food is very expensive too. I don´t know why some people find it cheap. A liko of rice (the best one) is about US$3 and It can serve from 16 to 20 people. And there are lots of things tto go with it, from eggs and omelettes to any meat dish.

Fast food is not good to eat every day. I honestly don't care for it, and it's wildly expensive here, anyway. It's way cheaper and way healthier to just fix at home, like you said, a sandwich at your house is better than the fast food.
