Baked quail for dinner

I finally defrosted two of the six quail so that’ll be my dinner. I’ve never made quail before so I hope it’ll turn out good. I don’t want to overcook it, but I also don’t want it raw. After doing a search online, it seems I have to bake it at 400 F for 15 to 20 minutes. I hope that’s correct. I’m keeping the quail whole and I’m not stuffing it with anything.
I coated the quail with olive oil and sprinkled inside and out with sea salt, Osmo poultry seasoning, and dried marjoram. For the side, I already sautéd some yellow squash with a diced shallot. And I will also boil a little bit of couscous as well.
I’m gonna take out the quail now from the fridge so it can get to room temperature and then I will pop it into my Breville toaster oven. Since the quail is small, I don’t see the point in turning on my regular oven.
My mouth is watering just thinking about eating that quail. It better turn out good.

I hope they turn out good. Pretty and I used to cook quail for dinner, too. Haven't done that in several years, though. They always tasted really good.

@DaddyEvil I think I should’ve seared it first because the bra side didn’t get much color on it.

Thankfully, cooking it for 20 minutes was a good idea. It wasn't overdone.

@lovebuglena What did you have on the side? We used to do wild rice.

We had a good friend who loved quail and he was a hunter. Every year he would bring us some, all cleaned and dressed out and ready to cook or put in the freezer. They were just delicious.

It cooks in about 20 minutes and it's easy to make. I have four more in the freezer. Next time I make them I will give two to my mom.

Are you covering it in the oven?
Personally, and we eat quail a lot,
I would have seared it all around in a skillet, and then put it in a pre heated oven for 10 minutes
Covered,
And then rested it for 10 minutes

That's good.
As long as it was tasty doesn't matter how you got there
