So, I got a message from my doctor yesterday, and I was really glad I did. I had worn a cardiac monitor for two weeks at the beginning of April, what a nuisance that thing was..so itchy with the tape and all. Nothing wrong with my heart, but I had gotten light headed a few times over the past year. It was just kind of a rule out type thing. He told me it would be free, rather insurance would pay..not quite true. They sent me the results which were written in Doctor speak..from what I could ascertain, they looked OK, but not sure..cuz not a doc. Anyway, the doctor sent a note saying normal sinus rhythm. I found out the cause of the lighthead was my lowish iron level..since I have been taking a supplement, as long as I remember to take it..no problems. Have you ever gotten test results in Doctor speak?

Yes! I was going through previous heart test results from a couple of years ago, and while they indicated problems, they didn’t go into details about what to do and how you treat them. Just ridiculous and unclear.

@snowy22315 No, I figured I’d let the new cardiologist explain it to me.

Did you call the doctor or cardiologist about it?

This had all kinds of things like wavelengths, QT,etc. I probably could have handled BPM..or something simple like that

@snowy22315 Heh. I'd want to call and ask what this and that means.I can handle wavelengths. But would anyone respond to me?

All the time I got my husband tests results in Doctor's speak. I e-mailed to my brother for a translation in common people speak.

@snowy22315 - Doctors like to speak in a way so that we can understand nothing at all of what they are saying.

I hate when they do that. Most of us don't know what they mean

That must’ve been a relief to hear everything is normal. Medical reports can be really hard to understand sometimes, especially with all the technical terms.

Today a nurse had called about Bob and she flat out said "Oh, I do not know how to read these things." so I am not surprised when I do not "get it". It is usually men doctors that are that hard to figure.

Just now
The report of my operation was pretty much doctor speak. I'm glad your results were okay. Better try harder to remember to take the iron tablets! lol
