Finally leaving the house / myLot

Last Sunday I was out of the house, but then for the next five days I stayed home. I only left the house once and it was just to take out the garbage bins and put them back after pickup. I knew I should have gone somewhere, but I didn’t feel like venturing out anywhere. Today I’m finally leaving the house. My uncle’s wife turned 60 yesterday and today she’s celebrating her birthday at a Peruvian restaurant. The dinner starts at three pm. It will be a small gathering. I love their food and I’ve been to this restaurant a number of times already. They never disappoint. Before I go to the party, I’m going to stop by the library. I need to return a book I previously borrowed. And while there I may take out one book as well. I don’t want to take out more than one because I don’t want to drag many books to the restaurant. But one book should be okay as long as it’s not super bulky.

I went to the library to the poetry section, and there were many books I wanted to take out. Since I was going to the restaurant, I did not want to drag a bag of books with me so I just took only one.

Peruvian food is delicious! I have a friend from Peru and she comes over sometimes and makes dinner for Pretty and I.

When we first got to the restaurant, I think our party was the only party there and then more people started coming in and the place got full. Service was good and the food was delicious. I had the Peruvian skirt steak entrée. I don’t get why they love to put fries and rice together with the steak. Doesn’t make any sense to me. They don’t go together. For the appetizer, I had the veal skewers. Yum!

@lovebuglena I always let Pretty have my rice and I'd take part of her fries. Skirt steak sounds delicious! That's how they do it in Peru. Fries are a newer dish for them. They usually have rice with everything. Serving Americans, they put both on the plates, at least here in Missouri, they do. Veal skewers sound delicious, too.

@DaddyEvil usually the veal skewers (anticuchos) are veal heart but they did not have the word heart on the menu. I still think it is the heart though, even though my uncle’s wife said otherwise.

It was. My uncle‘s wife turned 60. For dessert, they brought out a small lava cake with their own ice cream, which I think is made from one of the Peruvian fruits (I forgot the name of it) and they sang her a happy birthday song.

Well, expand on that by 10x and you have my life. After my last outing I don't care to go out again for a long time to come. The restaurant outing sounds nice. I am such a foodie I love to eat out.

I know it’s not good to always keep yourself indoors. Need the fresh air, plus staying at home for a long time gets me down. And yet I can’t seem to get myself to go outside.
