Sweet and savory, but it's a big no from me. Would you try these?

I like to cook, so I am always looking up ideas for new things, or for recipes that would use up some of the foods I have on hand. I see lots of ads on the recipes, for other recipes and ideas, too. Yesterday and today, there is one that is really trending. Something I never would have thought of, and honestly it sounds...yukky to me.
Oreo cookies, wrapped in a piece of uncooked bacon. Two recipes I read recommended using a smoker to cook these, and another recipe opted for using a regular grill. Either way, they just don't sound good. I am not a big Oreo fan, but the nutrition on these is bad...high in fat, sugar, and sodium. Maybe I am being too picky, but I don't think I could eat one.
Would you try a bacon wrapped Oreo?
Traeger smoked dessert idea: Sweet Oreo cookies wrapped in crispy pork bacon, smoked with a little bbq rub and bbq sauce on the pellet grill.

@MarieCoyle - They look horrible, California prunes wrapped with bacon and grilled are good.

That doesn't sound too bad. I might actually try that, as their are no Oreos involved.

I don´t like Oreo cookies to begin with so I would not even try to spend my time baking that mixture.

@MarieCoyle I do like some sweet and sour food though, like Chinese pork.

Sweet and sour pork or chicken is something we really enjoy as well.

I wouldn't make them, but if I saw one on a plate I might take a bite. I think it is the same principal as a hamburger using a donut for a bun. I might try it, but it would be a one and done.

I can understand trying new things, I generally enjoy doing that. I am not sure about a hamburger with a donut bun...it doesn't sound good to me.

I have had chicken liver wrapped in bacon once, it tasted pretty good. But I agree with you, Oreo cookies is a big no from me.

That sounds like carnival food, and that is a type of food I would not be tempted to try. I did have a small donut with icing and sprinkles of real bacon on it, and it was good for a few bites. That’s all I could do though; it’s definitely not something I could do every day.

Everyone seems to like to try new things. Liking both bacon and Oreos and see where this would go over favorably with most folks. I like much of the usual stuff myself. Being a foodie, I don't mind trying something new from time to time though. I want to find the recipe for type of chili a neighbor shared with us this last minter. It was very tasty but had a sweet flavor. It was SO good. I want to make some.

Many people here in the Midwest put a little sugar in their chili pot when it is done. The sugar and salt sort of work together and make it taste delicious.

That is very common here. I always put a spoonful in my chili..it just works well with the salt, chili power, etc. that goes in there.

I do not like oreo cookies, and would never waste a slice or two of bacon on them.
While in the grocery store yesterday, I noticed that a package, which is less than a pound, of bacon is an even $10.
Now I know that bacon comes from pigs, but with the price of everything today, are pigs related to oil sands?
The price of both are outrageous.

I didn’t think it sounded very enticing. But to some people, if something had any bacon in it or on it, they will eat it.

It holds no charms for me, either. I will take a regular dessert or put my bacon on a BLT in the summertime, with a nice fresh tomato!

I am thinking most men who enjoy grilling food might try them, but I could be wrong. I showed the article to my son and he made a gagging noise. So did my daughter and son in law. So basically my family votes it down and doesn't want to try it, thankfully!
